Environmental & Social Management System

Image

Radiance has implemented a comprehensive E & S Management System (ESMS) that outlines procedures to:

  • Evaluate and identify potential environmental, social, and governance risks to prospective projects before investment
  • Assess ESG-related risks for greenfield sites and new acquisitions. They are screened, evaluated, and mitigated at the conceptualization stage of a project, including the physical climate-related risks that are evaluated at the inception stage and aptly assigned mitigating measures
  • Empower Radiance to operate sustainably and imbibe its sustainable development goals and objectives

GHG Footprint

Radiance aims to add 2 GW of distributed renewable energy capacity in India, for its commercial and industrial customers. This will aid in decarbonising the energy sector and help businesses reduce their GHG footprints, contributing to the global goal of limiting temperature rise to 1.5°C.

Radiance is dedicated to contributing to global climate change efforts. The company regularly monitors and reports its carbon footprint arising from Scope 1 (emissions from sources it owns or controls), Scope 2 (emissions from purchased electricity), and limited Scope 3 emissions (from business travel, employee commutes, etc.). This is done in accordance with the ISO 1464-1/GHG Protocol Corporate Accounting and Reporting Standard.

Water Management

Radiance is sensible to growing concern around the scarcity of fresh water resources and thus always promotes sustainable water management practices at its sites. Radiance has implemented dry robotic module cleaning across most of its ground mount solar sites, which helps save ~2.4 Litres per module per cycle.

Waste Management

Radiance strives to limit the environmental footprint of waste generated from its operations and provide a safe and healthy work environment for employees, workers, visitors, and clients. It is committed to maximising conservation of natural resources and minimising environmental harm from its actions. Radiance encourages recycling and reusing waste products to the extent possible and ensures safe disposal of waste in line with the rule of law.

Biodiversity Management

Radiance has taken measures to reduce habitat degradation and biodiversity loss from its projects. It screens all its future projects for their potential environmental and social impact and assigns mitigating measures accordingly. Radiance conducts a full-fledged Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) study as an instrument to predict projects' potential adverse environmental and social impact to maximise benefits and minimise adverse impact.
